For real, this is the most fun I have ever had in a training program at work.

Thank you for your time and for all of the knowledge you shared.

A huge thank you to you for your excellent teaching. I learnt so many new techniques that I am excited to implement.

What I enjoyed most was you created a safe environment to be uncomfortable - which will ultimately help us to feel comfortable in environments that might not feel so safe, like the courtroom.

You have great energy and your passion for what you do really shines through.

Rebecca DuMaine is a lucky find for anyone looking for help with dialects, accent reduction, and opening up your voice’s potential.

She gave me the confidence to speak in front of a crowded room, whether it be giving a speech or performing on stage.

Biography

Rebecca is Professor of Voice and Speech, an international voice teacher for business professionals and a professional jazz singer.

Rebecca has a rare skill set as a designated Linklater Voice teacher, an accent, dialect and speech coach and is on the frontline as a performer as both an actor and professional jazz singer and recording artist.

She has a BA in Drama from Duke University and an MFA in Acting from Rutgers, Mason Gross School of the Arts. She spent many years acting in New York City and regionally throughout the United States, on stage and on the small screen.

Alongside her work as a performer, Rebecca trained with and was certified by Master Voice teacher Kirstin Linklater in 2003. This accreditation is akin to a Doctorate with a 5 year apprenticeship training towards certification with Kristin. Rebecca is 1 of 400 people in the world who holds this accreditation.

Rebecca rediscovered her love of jazz and has dedicated the last eleven years to recording and performing with a trio and currently has six albums on the Summit Records label. You can find her albums on Spotify, Pandora, iTunes, amazon and on her website: www.rebeccadumaine.com.

Rebecca has taught Voice and Speech at NYU, Rutgers University, SUNY Purchase, Pace University, The Maggie Flanigan and Bill Esper Studios and in the graduate acting programs at Columbia and The Actors Studio, where she designed the speech curriculum.

She is currently Professor of voice and speech, on-camera audition and dialects in the BFA and MFA programs at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and has a flourishing private practice. Rebecca has worked with actors and business professionals in accent reduction work, dialect acquisition and mastery and has prepared numerous actors for graduate school, on-camera and stage auditions.

Rebecca regularly teaches business professionals and is on the faculty of performance coaches for the Australia Bar Association’s annual advocacy program for in court lawyers. Rebecca has voice and dialect coached theatre productions in NYC and throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
